  This was an interesting find. I started getting curious about computers around the IRC days. In those days, a lot of people were scripting their clients to produce ASCII art (back when it was a thing), but then there were others that realized it was possible to do more sinister stuff. For example, by flooding someone with a ping request it was possible to overload a target’s network card/modem and cause them to disconnect (mind you this was dial up). This along with suggesting them to press alt + F4 and ctrl + alt + del .

Random Forest Tuning

  Over the past 2 years since learning Python/R from zero, I have been forcing myself to learn how to build an algorithmic trading program. It has definitely been a very steep curve but as with everything else, a challenege is what I enjoy. It definitely took a lot of reading on trading strategies but also improving my programming skills in general. I remember how much I forced myself to do countless variations “Hello World” just to learn print functions. Now, I share my knowledge as much as I can with other people who are interested, either programming in general, infosec or data science.

McKinsey Analytics Online Hackathon

  Over the weekend, I joined my first hackathon organized by McKinsey and hosted on AnalyticsVidhya. The hackathon was over a 24-hour period starting from 11am AEST Saturday and finishing the next day. The event itself was a hiring hack and includes the prize of an all-expense paid trip to any international analytics conference of choie as a McKinsey guest.
